Love to shop but can’t stand the queues? With its “mobile scan and go” Sainsbury’s are taking a leaf out of Apple’s book. Good that you don’t have to scan Nectar card like with the handheld scanners to initiate the shopping trip. Very difficult to negotiate phone, item to scan, plus trolley and anything else. Despite all the hype since Go’s launch two-and-a-half years ago, it has only expanded to 12 locations and is yet to open its first UK store, or indeed launch anywhere outside the US. Sainsbury's has launched the UK's first till-free store in London with plans to roll the new digital system out across the country. It is the best experience from a self scan app I have used from any supermarket though even with the little niggles I have mentioned.
